Dr. Anthony Chaffee
Dr. Anthony Chaffee, MD, is an American physician practicing in Australia and host of The Plant Free MD podcast. He began university at age 16, studying Molecular and Cellular Biology before earning his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
A former All-American and professional rugby player, Dr. Chaffee first adopted a carnivore diet during his athletic career, where he observed significant improvements in performance and recovery.
He now focuses on treating chronic disease and optimizing metabolic health through nutrition and lifestyle interventions in his medical practice. He also leads the Carnivore Challenge, a structured 90-day program designed to help individuals implement an animal-based diet with clear guidance, tools, and support.

Dr. Chaffee's first book presents a direct and uncompromising argument: modern chronic diseases are not random or inevitable, but the predictable result of species-inappropriate inputs.
Drawing on evolution, anatomy, biochemistry, clinical experience, and a large body of human evidence, including clinical trials, he argues that conditions such as obesity, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, as well as heart disease and cancer, are driven by two primary factors: the exposure to and accumulation of dietary toxins, and the absence of species-specific nutrition.
Applying the Bradford Hill criteria for causation, Dr. Chaffee systematically builds the case that diet is not merely associated with chronic disease, but is its primary driver. He then shows how this framework explains a wide range of modern conditions, offering a unifying, biologically grounded theory of disease.
This is not a book of dietary suggestions. It is a fundamental re-examination of what disease is, where it comes from, and how it can be reversed.
